Revision

In Revision I have overlayed and blended images of associated motifs; poignant glimpses of texts; arcane iconography and various graphic devices that supplement an impression of either the relevant period of history or contemporary culture that I want to convey in the image.  It’s pictorialist photo-fiction characterised by secret stories disclosed within a picture.  I hint at vestiges of past human activity, scenes of conflict, divinity or esoteric and occult folklore.  I ask my viewer to look deeper into and beyond their initial reception of the photograph - to revise and revisit their vision, appreciation and understanding of the subject matter.
